Legal Manager - Strategic Global Venture

This exciting role within a medium-sized team focuses on Contracts and New Business Development and supports business teams closely as the company aims to build a project of national importance. You will be working with partners in Japan and overseas, with the main responsibilities as follows:

• Advising business colleagues on strategic legal matters relating to a global manufacturing venture company
• Negotiating and drafting a range commercial contracts, in Japanese and English 
• Planning and leading negotiations with external partners
• Anticipating and mitigating any legal risk relevant to the business

Successful candidates will have:

• A strong track record of working in a corporate legal role in-house or with a leading law firm
• Law degree with attorney qualification a plus
• Strong knowledge of legal issues concerning the manufacturing sector (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English, written and spoken
• Passion and energy to support a company determined to achieve their target
