Hybrid Engineer(Design BESS/Hybrid systems)

・Understand and apply battery design, selection, and sizing parameters. Design BESS and hybrid systems (BESS + PV or BESS + Wind), including chemistry selection and performance modeling/simulations.

・Estimate battery lifetime, assess degradation and augmentation options

・Utilize software (e.g. HOMER, PVSyst) for battery and hybrid systems by modeling each component in detail.

・Integrate bi-directional inverters, AC systems, DC/DC converters into battery system design for stand-alone and hybrid applications.

・Understand and adhere to relevant standards: IEC 62933, UL9540A, NFPA 855, UL 1973, IEC 62619

・Develop comprehensive energy storage solutions, including battery technology, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, and hybrid systems (BESS + PV or BESS + Wind). Provide technical services for project execution with system details, review utility and commercial and industrial RFPs

・Assist with battery and hybrid system development in various markets. Prepare Expression of Interest documents and Request for Quotation documents for project tender

・Manage technical documentation flow between suppliers and contractors

・Support the development of a Centre of Excellence for Energy Storage. Participate regularly in conferences and industry networks to scout for new ideas and innovations. Present technical information to external and internal teams on energy storage systems and solutions

・Ensure technical compliance of energy storage solutions

・Collaborate with Technical Advisors to complete project feasibility, detailed engineering review, and construction finance due diligence

・Oversee battery and solar design and construction by contractors for projects in Japan

・Masters on Large scale BESS applications

・Experience in executing large scale BESS systems in Japan

・Modelling/Simulation experience (e.g. in HOMER, PowerFactory, PVSyst)

・Established network within the industry with BESS related suppliers and contractors
